Our Board
The Thomas Cemetery Association board is made up of the City of North Little Rock appointed Advisory Committee. All eight of these members are working to protect and preserve Thomas Cemetery.
Our History
The original Thomas Cemetery Association was established when J.W.B. Thomas donated a 2-acre plot for a cemetery. There is no mention of such a group after the 1920's, so all records of ownership and burial have been lost. The earliest burial was in 1876 and only one took place after the 1950's. Because of the deterioration of the cemetery due to vandalism, neglect, and disrepair, the City of North Little Rock assumed ownership in 2018 and an Advisory Committee was appointed.
Late in 2018, the Thomas Cemetery Association was formed to support and assist in the restoration and preservation of this historic treasure.
The Organization
The Thomas Cemetery Association is a membership organization, with the Executive Board elected by the eight members. It is a non-profit with a 501(c)(3) status, meaning all donations are tax deductible. The members of the Board of Thomas Cemetery Association are volunteers with varied backgrounds who are united in the mission of restoring and preserving Thomas Cemetery.
